Our Purpose
Connect with God and his People
We
seek to provide a way for you to be connected to God in a deeper way.
We strive to build community, relationships and strong bonds of
friendship grounded in faith.
Grow in Faith and Love
We
seek to provide a path for you to know God more deeply. Faith can be
difficult. Trust can be a challenge. Believing in God is not always
easy. Growing in His love, learning more about Him, and having a place
where you can ask questions provides a path for deeper growth in God’s
love for you.
Live through Service and Sharing
We
don’t just talk about how much God loves us, we strive to show how much
God loves us. We are a community church. As Jesus loved and served, we
strive to do the same. We feed the hungry, we visit the incarcerated, we
care for those in need. We do this because we know the love of God and
in turn, share that love through service and care to others.
That ALL May Know
At King of Glory ALL means all.
It doesn't mean that we will always agree. It doesn't mean that we
condone every decision. It does mean that God loves all people and we
want to be a catalyst to that love.
What We Believe
The Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the
inspired word of God and the final authority for faith and life.
The Godhead
We believe that the only true God is the Triune God; eternally existing
in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—co-eternal in being,
co-eternal in nature, co-equal in power and glory, having the same
attributes and perfections.
The Work of Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption
through His death on the cross as a sacrifice on our behalf, and that
our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection
from the dead. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended into
heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God as our Prophet,
Priest, and King. We believe Jesus is coming again to judge the living
and the dead.
The Person and Work of The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit sanctifies, purifies, strengthens and comforts all
believers. The Holy Spirit is the promised gift of God to serve as
counselor and comforter. No one can confess faith in Jesus Christ as
Lord apart from the Holy Spirit’s power. The Spirit does God's work in
recreating us through the washing of regeneration and renewal of our
Baptism. The Spirit of God provides fruit within our souls so that we
might live to His glory. The Holy Spirit also provides gifts for us to
praise, honor and serve the Lord.
Salvation
We believe that humanity is saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ
our Lord. We believe that God desires ALL people to be saved and know
the truth and that He loves all people and wants them to come to love
Him and each other.
The Sacraments
We believe that God has created a means for which we are connected to
His love and grace. Through Baptism the Holy Spirit offers all people
new life, and makes us God’s children-His new creation (John 1:12, 13;
John 3:1-8; Titus 3:5; Acts 2:38). Christians of the Lutheran tradition
believe that in The Sacrament of Holy Communion we are truly receiving
the very body and blood of our Risen Lord Jesus in, with, and under the
bread and wine. This is according to His Word and promise, and not
according to our human understanding or intellect. In Holy Communion God
offers believers the forgiveness of sins, increases the depth of their
faith, and the assurance of eternal life (Matthew 26: 26-29, I
Corinthians 10:16,17, John 6: 51).
